Do you remember that good old saying, ‘look before you leap’? Well, here’s a new one, ‘check before you book’! Still don’t get it?

Well, here’s what’s been happing, the internet is full of unfortunate stories of travellers making flight booking blunders that land them in a totally different destination that the one they anticipated to be!

Sometimes in the haste of booking cheap flights, travellers end up wasting their hard-earned money by arriving at a different location with the same name as that of a popular destination. 

To save you from such blunder, we’ve put together a list of places that have the same name but are in most cases the total opposite.

Antigua, Antigua and Barbuda.

Antigua, the island was so named by Spanish explorer Cristopher Columbus, meaning ‘ancient’ in Spanish whereas Antigua in Guatemala is a city that boasts Spanish Architecture.

Apart from the Spanish connection, these places are strikingly different, the first one being surrounded by the pristine waters of the Caribbean Sea and the second one being surrounded by volcanoe.
