The Cinco De Mayo La Fiesta Street Party returned to the Jamaica Food and Drink Kitchen for its second annual hosting on Friday (May 3) in Barbican, St Andrew.

The event gave patrons a taste of Mexico with nearly a dozen varieties of tequilas, cocktails and food options.

One patron said she especially liked the mini pork empinadas. She found the crust delicious and crispy and the filling well seasoned.

Speaking with Our Today, director of the Jamaica Food and Drink Kitchen Nicole Pandohie said, ‘This is our second year hosting the event and this year feels extra special. We sold out two days in advance and that shows how the Jamaican palate is growing, and developing a wider love for tequila and other Mexican cuisine.”

“It is an experience for people who love to party, love great food and drink and love a great time and all should come on down next year,” she continued.

Shereika Myers, brand manager at CPJ, the distributor of Patrón, one of the most popular tequila brands globally, expressed pride in being able to partake in the Street Party.

“We’re happy to share Patrón with Jamaica, it’s the number one tequila to have especially for something like Cinco De Mayo,” she said.
