Chen Daojiang, Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica, paid a courtesy call on Rear Admiral Antonette Wemyss Gorman, the chief of defence staff of Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) earlier this week on Tuesday (July 12).

The two sides exchanged views on China-Jamaica relations, military cooperation and other issues of common concern.

Last month, Ambassador Daojiang paid a courtesy call on deputy prime minister and Minister of National Security Dr Horace Chang.

The round of visits also coincides with the 50th anniversary of the start of diplomatic relations between China and Jamaica.

Ambassador Daojiang said he is on a drive to promote China-Jamaica strategic partnership to a higher level, bring more benefits to the two countries and two peoples, and jointly build a closer China-Caribbean countries community with a shared future.
