Baptist Health International joined forces with the American Chamber of Commerce of Jamaica (AmCham Jamaica) to host a lively mid-morning business mixer on October 3.
The collaboration aimed to strengthen Jamaicans’ access to world-class healthcare both regionally and internationally, while fostering dialogue on innovations shaping the future of medical care.
The event brought together senior business executives, healthcare professionals, and policy influencers for engaging discussions on advancements in the healthcare industry, with a particular emphasis on orthopaedic and oncology care.
For AmCham Jamaica, the occasion reinforced its enduring role as a bridge for trade, investment, and professional exchange between Jamaica and the United States.
“Today’s mixer highlights the strength of the connections between our countries. Baptist Health, with its proximity to Jamaica, offers world-class healthcare services that are both accessible and relevant to the needs of our people. The truth is that healthcare and wellness are no longer just personal matters, they are economic ones too,” explained Ann-Dawn Young Sang, president of AmCham Jamaica.
She continued, “We look forward to building on the connections made here this morning and continuing the work of linking people, sectors, and countries in ways that create value for all.”
“This collaboration reflects the power of shared innovation in healthcare,” said Dr Rogelio Ribas, corporate vice president of Baptist Health International. “By engaging with partners like AmCham Jamaica, we continue to expand opportunities for medical education, training, and access to advanced health care throughout the Caribbean.”
For just over 10 years, Baptist Health International and AmCham Jamaica have partnered to elevate healthcare through various awareness initiatives. Recognised among the top healthcare systems in the United States by independent ranking bodies such as U.S. News & World Report, Baptist Health combines advanced technology with compassionate, patient-centred care.

Beyond patient care, Baptist Health International, part of Baptist Health South Florida, actively collaborates with physicians, hospitals, and medical associations around the world. Through initiatives such as second opinions, clinical observerships, consulting, and continuing medical education, it plays a vital role in strengthening the global exchange of medical knowledge and expertise.
As an active franchise of the US Chamber of Commerce, AmCham Jamaica remains the leading membership-based organisation dedicated to promoting and facilitating trade and investment between Jamaica and the United States, providing valuable local insights on the impact of US policies on Jamaica’s business landscape.
