Veteran coach Andrew Price has been appointed as technical director at his alma mater, St George’s College (STGC), for the upcoming season after long-serving coach Neville Bell resigned in December after over 20 years as head coach.

“St George’s College is proud to announce the appointment of Andrew Price as Technical Director for its football programme. Price, a distinguished alumnus and two-time “Triple Champion” for the ‘Light Blues’, will officially assume his role on April 1, 2026, following the conclusion of the current schoolboy football season,” the media release stated.

The appointment marks a significant “homecoming” for one of Jamaica’s most respected football minds. In his capacity as Technical Director, Price will provide overarching leadership for the entire STGC football pathway—from the U14 and U16 levels to the flagship Manning Cup team—ensuring a unified playing philosophy and a commitment to holistic student-athlete development.

“We are delighted to welcome Andrew Price on board,” said principal Margaret Campbell.

“His appointment is a strategic move to positively shape the development of our youth. We look forward to his leadership in aligning our training methodologies and fostering a culture of excellence both on the field and in the classroom,” she added.

Price, who was an integral part of the St George’s College teams in the early 1980s that won the Triple crown of Manning Cup, Walker Cup and the all-island Olivier Shield in 1983 and 1984.

Price, having represented Boys Town, where he had a successful stint as coach and later went on to Humble Lions and was part of the coaching staff for Jamaica’s Senior Reggae Girlz team that historically qualified for the first World Cup in 2019.

He brings over 30 years of success at the school, club, and international levels. His extensive resume highlights a career defined by high-stakes victory and community impact.

Price later earned an NCAA Division I scholarship to Florida International University. He is a recipient of the Order of Distinction (OD) and a Justice of the Peace (JP), recognised for his contributions to the development of the sport in Jamaica.

Boasts a deep professional history as Head Coach and Technical Director for Boys’ Town Football Club, Humble Lion, Calabar High and most recently as Head Coach at Mico University College.

“Returning to North Street is a profound honour,” said Price. “My goal is to implement a 3-5 year development plan that not only restores St. George’s to the pinnacle of competitive football but also mentors the next generation of student-athletes and patriots.”
