

A 48-hour curfew imposed on the community of Trench Town in South St Andrew on December 12 has been extended by another two days.
The curfew took effect on December 14 at 6 p.m. immediately after the end of the previous restriction, which ran from December 12 at 6 p.m. to December 14 at 6 p.m. The newly implemented measure will remain until Saturday, December 16, at 6 p.m.
Areas affected include:
- Along 7th Street and Upper 1st Street intersection to the intersection of Ralph Lane and 7th Street
- Spanish Town Road from the intersection of Milk Lane to the intersection of Spanish Town Road and West Road
- Ralph Lane to the intersection of Metcalf Street to the intersection of Milk Lane and on to the intersection of Milk Lane and Spanish Town Road
- Along West Road from the intersection of West Road and Spanish Town Road to the intersection of Upper 1st Street and West Road, to the intersection of Upper 1st Street and 7th Street

The curfews were enforced in the community following two fatal shootings.
Reports are that Kerry Parker Gunter, a 45-year-old chef, was fatally shot by gunmen at his shop along Third Street on Tuesday morning. Another man, Tavene Peart, of Greenvale, Mandeville, Manchester, was also shot and killed along Fourth Street in Trench Town on Monday.
