Appleton Estate was named the number five best-selling, and number four top trending rum in the world, according to the prestigious Drinks International Brands Report.
The Brands Report, now in its 13th year, delves into the buying behaviour of the elite end of the bar business. Through a poll of the world’s best bars, the report tracks how brands are trending with some of the most influential bartenders in the industry.
Not surprisingly, Jamaica, a country known for its exceptional rums, has emerged on top.
“We are exceedingly proud,” says Kamal Powell, regional marketing manager for the brand at J. Wray and Nephew Limited. “Appleton Estate is a global, premium, award-winning brand, and we are pleased that Drinks International has recognized and was able to capture the spirit of Jamaican Excellence.”
How prestigious is this recognition? In the bar business, it’s Olympic Gold. Through its strong, independent editorial content and its certified controlled circulation, Drinks International is one of the most trusted and respected global drinks journals in the world.
“For several years our brands have been recognised by Drinks International which tells us our rums continue to make an impact on a global scale,” continued Powell.
“This is a great sign to us that we’re doing something right. Our job is to introduce Jamaican excellence to even more rum lovers and enthusiasts around the world. Once we succeed in that mission, the quality of Appleton Estate rums speaks for itself.”
Appleton Estate’s renowned golden expressions are found in the heart of Jamaica’s Nassau Valley where it is nestled in Siloah, St Elizabeth.
This is also where you can find the Joy Spence Appleton Estate Rum Experience (JSAERE), a one-of-a-kind rum history tour where persons are introduced to the various award-winning Appleton Estate expressions and the unique rum-making history and process.
“We are always excited for the chance to take Jamaican excellence around the globe,” Powell added. “As always, the world is excited to get closer to Jamaican culture and getting a taste of the island’s finest rums is an excellent place to start.”
