Applications are now open for the 2025 Chevening/JN Oliver F Clarke Scholarship, a new Chevening Partner Award in Jamaica established through a two-year agreement between the British High Commission and The Jamaica National Group.

This prestigious, fully funded scholarship, named in memory of Oliver F Clarke, the former Chairman of The Jamaica National Group and the RJR/Gleaner Communications Group, supports a Jamaican student pursuing a master’s degree in fields such as social justice, public administration, data analytics, information technology, actuarial science, mathematics, or education in the UK.

Prospective applicants can apply through the Chevening website, The Jamaica National Group website, or the JN Foundation website. The application deadline is November 5.

The first recipient, Najae Murray, was awarded the scholarship in August. He will be studying Education and International Development at University College London.

Claudine Allen, General Manager of the JN Foundation, emphasized that the scholarship is part of a two-year partnership, with one scholarship available each year.

It aims to support exceptional Jamaican students in achieving academic excellence and gaining the skills needed to drive positive change in Jamaica and beyond.

Recipients of the Chevening/JN Oliver F Clarke Scholarship are required to return to Jamaica to apply their new skills to the country’s development.
