Conceptualised by recording artist Garnett ‘Papiito’ Ferguson and musical director Jhevaughn Murphy, Live N’ Loud Thursdays was created to provide a consistent platform for authentic live music in Kingston. Brought to life under the leadership of Andrew ‘Anju Blaxx’ Myrie through BlackState Studio, alongside resident band One State Band and legendary sound system Renaissance Sound, the monthly series has rapidly established itself as one of the city’s must-attend live entertainment experiences while helping to fuel Kingston’s live music revival.

Held on the last Thursday of every month at 19 Churchill Avenue, Kingston, the event has experienced tremendous growth, attracting a loyal following of music lovers, industry professionals, musicians, producers and creatives who appreciate authentic live performances and Jamaica’s rich musical heritage.

As conversations continue across Jamaica and the wider Caribbean about preserving and expanding live music spaces, Live N’ Loud has emerged as an important platform that celebrates musicianship while creating meaningful opportunities for both established and emerging talent to perform before live audiences. Since its launch, the stage has welcomed standout performances from acclaimed acts including Sizzla, Bugle, Jahvillani, Turbulence, Jemere Morgan and Kevyn Voicemail, while continuing to introduce audiences to the next generation of Jamaican talent such as Papiito himself, Sobah and Ecina to name a few.

One of the event’s signature features is its highly anticipated Open Mic segment, which has become a highlight of every staging. The platform provides aspiring artistes, musicians, singers, deejays, spoken-word performers and other creatives with the opportunity to showcase their talent before live audiences and industry stakeholders, often opening doors to valuable collaborations, mentorship and career development. More than a monthly concert series, Live N’ Loud has become a creative hub where artistes and musicians are encouraged to express themselves freely, refine their craft and connect with fellow creatives in an environment dedicated to authentic live performance.

“Live music has always been at the heart of Jamaica’s culture,” said founder Garnett ‘Papiito’ Ferguson. “Our vision is to ensure there are consistent platforms where artistes can perform with a live band, develop as entertainers and keep this important part of our culture thriving.” With attendance continuing to grow and momentum building with each staging, Live N’ Loud Thursdays sponsored by Legend Beer and One RPM is helping to shape the future of Jamaica’s live entertainment scene while reinforcing Kingston’s position as the cultural heartbeat of Caribbean music.
