Argentine coach Javier Marcelo Ainstein has parted ways with Waterhouse FC after serving as head coach for six months.

He had replaced long-time coach Marcel Gayle and led the Drewsland-based club to the Jamaica Premier League playoffs but was eliminated by Cavalier after giving up a two-goal advantage in the first leg.

Waterhouse Football Club, via a press release, announced that Ainstein had resigned from his position with immediate effect.

“The club acknowledges Coach Ainstein’s service during his tenure and appreciates the effort and commitment he brought to the role. Waterhouse FC wishes him every success in his future professional endeavours,” the release said.

“The Board of Management has already initiated plans to ensure continuity within the club’s football operations as preparations continue for the upcoming season. An announcement regarding interim or permanent technical leadership will be made at the appropriate time,” it continued.

Coach Alex Thomas was appointed as Ainstein’s assistant, and it will be left to see if he will be elevated to the head coaching position.

Waterhouse was founded in 1968 and have won the Premier League twice in 1997-98 and 2005-06 and were runners-up seven times.
