The Bahamas’ uber-popular Atlantis Paradise Island resort has just completed its US$150 million resort-wide renovation, comprising a top-to-bottom transformation of The Royal flagship hotel.
This significant project represents a massive upgrade of the iconic Caribbean resort to include new eateries like Silas and JJ Johnson’s FIELDTRIP, along with a new Cartier boutique and a soon-to-debut Christian Louboutin, among other additions. There is even more addition on the way, such as the installation of a mini-golf course called Paradise Links.
The completion of the project comes a few months after Atlantis celebrated the 25th anniversary of the debut of The Royal. The renovation included a new look for the 85-table, 700-game casino, featuring four glass sculptures by artist Dale Chihuly, along with a new bar called Bar Sol.
World-class culinary offerings
Paranza has already made the list of the 50 Best Restaurants in the Caribbean, part of an impressive lineup of world-class culinary stars headlining Atlantis eateries, one that now includes, Nobu Matsuhisa, White, Johnson, Jose Andres and Alon Shaya, among others.
Atlantis Paradise Island is already one of the world’s top family resorts. It only adds to a resort offering that has long been at the forefront of the Caribbean, from its Aquaventure water park to the Ocean Club golf course and the endlessly entertaining Marina Village — with 40 restaurants across Atlantis in total.
Atlantis even brought in Barbie this summer for a clever activation thanks to a partnership with Mattel. This is a testament to the dynamic energy in Nassau Paradise Island as a destination right now, from world-class chefs to a booming cruise port to a continually upgrading hotel product across the twin-island destination.

Audrey Oswell, president and managing director of Atlantis, told Caribbean Journal, “Atlantis continuously elevates the guest experience, and recent developments at The Royal, Paranza and the Atlantis Casino provide guests with upgraded, modern touches while retaining the resort’s integral identity that visitors know and love.”
“Atlantis’ experiential-driven programming allows our guests and visitors to create lifelong memories while visiting the resort and the Bahamas. The new designs throughout Atlantis demonstrate our commitment to providing an unsurpassed vacation experience,” Oswell added.
