Barita Investments Limited has announced a landmark partnership with the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona Campus, Young Investors Club (YIC). 

This collaboration will foster financial literacy, career development, and professional growth among students, equipping the next generation of Jamaicans with the skills needed to thrive in the dynamic financial sector.

The partnership will provide YIC members with invaluable educational opportunities, including workshops and training sessions on investment and financial markets. Chief Human Resources Officer at Cornerstone, Stephanie Murdock, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating “Investing in youth is an investment in the future of the financial sector. We are committed to empowering these young minds to lead with knowledge and confidence.”

The programme will also feature engaging competitions, such as stock trading and stock pitch events, providing students with hands-on experience and mentorship from Barita’s experienced professionals. Successful participants will have access to internship opportunities and may be eligible for entry into Barita’s prestigious Cornerstone Analyst Program. David Welsh, President of the Young Investors Club expressed enthusiasm for the partnership: “This collaboration will provide invaluable opportunities for our members, allowing them to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. We are thrilled to work with Barita and look forward to the growth and development this partnership will bring.”
