Desha Davis, the daughter of dancehall heavyweight Beenie Man has taken to social media to officially disown her father following a house-gift dispute.
Taking to Instagram Live, Desha recalled a recent situation with her father, claiming he had promised her a home space then retracted the offer once she started showing interest in the space.
It’s so heartbreaking that it has to come to this, but obviously me and him, we nah go have no ties,” she said. “Because me feel like over the years mi go through so much and me endure so much and mi stay quiet and everybody feel like him a this good fada, and him always a take care of his pickney dem.”

“Mi nah look no money from him, mi nah look nothing from him,” she added. “Mi pay mi owna bills dem…mi neva yet go for no handout or ask him for nothing,”
She noted that her father had bought a house in 2000, and promised her a section of the land to build on. She claims she never took him up on the offer till recently when her father called her to inform her that squatters had taken over her land.
“The man do a big 360 pon me, the man change him whole statement everything from him woman tell him say a this him fi do,” she said. “What? Mi and you talk the day before and you said, ‘Yes gwaan guh do yuh thing’… but as soon as your woman says no, you change your mind… the house is not yours anymore.”
“Paying school fee is not being a father, and that is all you’ve done for your kids,” she declared.
She recalled him informing her that her section of the house would now be used for storage. Desha expressed gratitude to Beenie Man’s ex, former Dancehall Queen Carlene Smith—whom she affectionately referred to as ‘Mommy’ throughout the video—for supporting her through the difficult situation.
