Nearly two years after his viral Verzuz ‘dad-bod’, dancehall icon Beenie Man shared an update of his physique, showing off his near-flat stomach. 

The entertainer, performing for Melé Destinations at the Moon Palace Resort in Cancún, Mexico on Friday (April 29), paused for a moment of levity with soca heavyweight Machel Montano and was praised by Jamaicans for ‘flexing’ what used to be a protruding belly. 

“If Beenie can lose the belly, everyone can. Love this,” replied user @RangerBirdy on Twitter.

Beenie Man started #OperationFlatBelly in May 2020, days after the critically acclaimed Verzuz bout with fellow dancehall heavyweight Bounty Killer. 

Being instructed by trainer Patrice J Whyte, the King of the Dancehall deejay’s fitness journey started while he was still romantically involved with author and former political aspirant Krystal Tomlinson.

Melé Destinations’ five-day party extravangza launched in Cancún on April 28 and ends on Monday, May 2 after being postponed for three years due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
