In honour of its 65th anniversary, the Jamaica Broilers Group successfully hosted the dynamic staging of The Best Dressed Chicken Fun in the Son on Saturday, April 20.

The free, all-day, family-friendly festival, which took place at the National Stadium, was the culmination of numerous charitable efforts undertaken by the poultry producer to express gratitude to the Jamaican people — a grand ‘Thank You’ — for their support over the years.

In collaboration with key partners like Jamaica Child Evangelism Fellowship and Youth Reaching Youth, the day began in a unique mix of fun and faith as The Best Dressed Chicken Fun in the Son treated children and teens to a variety of games, rides and activities, all while spreading the gospel.

The event also included a BMX stunt show and the festival’s food village with its dynamic culinary delights that featured some of Jamaica’s favourite restaurants and chefs who are all customers of The Best Dressed Chicken.

A BMX Stunt show was one of the fun activities at the Best Dressed
Chicken Fun in the Son, through the Luis Palau Association, to captivate Jamaicans while also spreading the gospel.

Additionally, recruitment opportunities with the Jamaica Constabulary Force, Burger King, The University of Technology, Jamaica and Operation Mobilisation were also on offer in the festival’s Work and Wellness Hub.

Inside the hub, The Best Dressed Chicken partnered with Northside Dental and a few divisions within the Ministry of Health & Wellness, which included the Kingston and St Andrew Dental & Know Numbers Department and the Oral Health Division to execute free blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and body mass index (BMI) checks. Also on offer were free dental services, including denture fittings while Mobicare filled prescriptions free of cost as a way to give back to Jamaicans. Other support came from the students of Kingston School of Nursing and the Medical Doctors from the Caribbean School of Medical Sciences. The hub attracted a sizeable turnout, with over 350 persons receiving medical checks.

Before the concert segment, Jamaica Broilers Group President and CEO Christopher Levy, welcomed and thanked everyone for coming out to celebrate with the agro-processing conglomerate.

“Without the grace of God, we wouldn’t be here. None of us. And tonight’s a night we have on offer the most amazing gift we could ever think of giving everybody, and that’s salvation. So we pray for salvation,” he stated.

The event concluded with spiritual performances by Kirk Franklin, TobyMac, and The Signature Woman Worship Team, re-commitment for some christians.
