Prominent US broadcaster Black Entertainment Television (BET) has confirmed plans to reboot its show ‘106 & Park‘ for a new generation of viewers, adapting the beloved programme for the digital era.
The announcement was made by network president and CEO Scott Mills, during an interview on The Breakfast Club last week, where he hinted at an evolving format to meet modern audience demands.
“We understand that people love ‘106 & Park‘, and so the fact that it doesn’t work as a linear television show doesn’t mean that ‘106 & Park‘ is over,” Mills explained. “We can bring ‘106 & Park‘ back as a podcast. We can bring ‘106 & Park‘ back as a digital experience.”
Mills revealed that a reimagined version of the show is already in development. He emphasised the programme’s enduring cultural significance and hinted at its return in 2025, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of ‘106 & Park‘.

“We are evolving what ‘106 & Park‘ would look like in 2025 because it does have that very important role,” Mills said. “We have a number of really exciting executions because…we’re approaching the 25th anniversary of ‘106 & Park‘ as well.”
First launched in 2000, ‘106 & Park‘ became a cultural phenomenon, providing a platform for hip-hop and R&B artists while connecting fans to the latest in music, entertainment, and youth culture.
Day one fans of the show are excited to see how BET will honour the legacy of 106 & Park while reinventing it for a new era.
