On Sunday, March 1, 2026, Jamaican diaspora leadership will be celebrated when New York party brand Bleu & Bougie posthumously presents its inaugural Alsion Roach Wilson Legacy Award to her husband, Omar Wilson, and family at the Greentree Country Club in Davenport, New Rochelle, New York. Music for the event will be provided by veteran sound system selector Glamour Wayne.

Roach Wilson, the former Consul General of Jamaica to New York, lived a life defined by resilience and purpose. After experiencing homelessness and spending more than a year in a Manhattan youth shelter, she rose to become a respected Wall Street executive, holding senior roles including Vice President at Bear Stearns and founder of The Alsion Roach Group. Her cybersecurity firm, Cyberlock Solutions, established her as a trailblazer in finance and innovation before her appointment as Jamaica’s 11th Consul General to New York in 2019.

“The inaugural Alsion Roach Wilson Legacy Award will be presented by Ariel Bowen, Officer-in-Charge at the Consulate General of Jamaica in New York, in recognition of the former CG’s extraordinary service and lifelong commitment to the Jamaican diaspora,” said Bleu & Bougie founder Jerry McDonald.

Reflecting on Roach Wilson’s accomplishments, McDonald added, “During the COVID-19 pandemic, she launched the popular CG on the Beatprogram, delivering essential supplies to vulnerable Jamaicans while supporting frontline healthcare workers. Her regional impact was amplified through her role as Chair of the CARICOM Consular Corps in New York, where she championed regional investment and diaspora engagement.”

The Government of Jamaica presented Roach Wilson with the Order of Distinction in 2019, later upgrading her to the Commander class to honour her legacy of service and national and international impact. The former CG passed away on November 8, 2025, after a brief illness.
