Dr Kingsley Chin

Spoken word artiste Dr Kingsley Chin, who goes by the stage name Buff Bay Son, is celebrating his newest release, Control The Street, which is the second single from his self-dubbed genre of “motivational music”.

The single aims to provide social commentary on the nation’s current state of affairs and the artiste’s views on how the nation can build and grow. A specialist in orthopaedic spinal surgery turned entrepreneur, Buff Bay Son has gone on to establish several medical technology companies and businesses, including the very successful KIC Ventures (KICv).

The artiste has now titled himself the millionaire “doctorpreneur”. He declares it a path out of poverty he hopes many will be inspired to follow. Buff Bay Son has now become the voice behind motivational music and set out to become a pioneer in the genre.

EDGY, VIBRANT SINGLE

In the edgy, vibrant single, Control The Street, recorded alongside Devin Di Dakta, Buff Bay Son tackles issues of poverty, crime, powerlessness, corruption, and governance head-on.

“Put down the guns, don’t do it, get off the street,” is the poet’s opening salvo, in the recently released music video, delivered in a scene that mimics a national address style press conference.

“Black youths dying from ganging. Everywhere, every year, spreading fear, give them gun, kill for fun.

“Who’s the don, the politician?” he pointedly goes on to inquire.

The album is produced by the Prove Yourself Music label in collaboration with JAW Records under the management company, Prove Yourself Management & Productions (PYMP).

It was engineered by JayEDGE, a young Kingston-based producer.
