Recording artiste Jahazeil Myrie has teamed up with Prod.LoudSpeakr for the release of My Neighbours on January 23.
The entertainer, who is the son of Grammy Award-winning reggae legend Buju Banton, noted that this project was a new avenue for him as he expands in his career.
“The inspiration behind My Neighbours came about [with] wanting to break through in music, and reflecting back on the years I’ve been in music. (It was about) self-reflection and wanting to step outside the box of my career,” he said.
As it relates to the producer—who has steadily been making a name for himself among a number of trendy artistes—Jahazeil explained that he had a seamless working experience.
“The connection with Prod.LoudSpeakr came from TikTok. I was on IzyBeats’ [more popularly known as: Izy Are You Kidding Me] TikTok live, where he does a talent night with Rygin King. My song didn’t get played but I was on the live and stuff,” he said. “[From my] experience working with LoudSpeakr, he is very professional, quick, and serious about his work and craft.”

He recorded his first song, No More, in 2015. Since then, he has recorded, At My Doorft Spragga Benz; Jah Me Seh; Hold On; No More; and, Who Am I. Some of his other recent releases have included: So Bless (featuring Destiny Yisrael), Mindset, and Obstacles.
As it relates to My Neighbours, Jahazeil said that he completed his part in under an hour, thanks to the convenience of his own recording studio.
His father plays a big part in being a muse.
“He inspires my music. The drive and the passion my father has. He never gives up, and he always keeps working, no matter the situation,” Jahazeil said.
With a career filled with bumps and triumphs, he is looking to release further EPs and headline his own tour.
