Fresh from winning the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup, Mount Pleasant could only muster a 0-0 draw at Dunbeholden FC while Harbour View registered a big 5-2 win over Spanish Town Police.

The Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League resumed after a six-week break following the passage of Hurricane Melissa on October 28, with four games on Sunday.

Mount Pleasant, which was only playing their sixth game of the season, basically with four games outstanding because of their involvement in the Caribbean Cup, inched to 10 points to be in eighth position. Dunbeholden are in 10th on nine points from their eight games.

At the Harbour View Stadium, home team Harbour View whipped Spanish Town Police 5-2 on the back of a three timer from Rohan Brown, who scored in the sixth, 29th and 90th minutes. Roshawn Oldfield (35th) and Trayvonne Reid (90th) completed the victory as Harbour View moved up to seventh spot on 11 points.

The promoted Spanish Town Police replied with goals by Rojia Layne (82nd) and Chevon Walters (89th) but remained rooted at the bottom of the league in 14th spot on two points following their eighth defeat from 10 games.

Racing United continued their progress, clipping Molynes United 3-2 at Stadium East as they consolidated third spot on 18 points from nine games. They are four points adrift of leaders Montego Bay United, which will be in action on Monday night.

Marlon Pennicooke gave Molynes United a 22nd-minute lead, but Tajay Grant pulled Racing level in the 33rd. Pennicooke restored Molynes’ lead in the 35th, and two minutes later, Chavanny Willis equalised once again for Racing in the 37th minute. Grant popped up for his second and Racing’s third in the 47th minute for the clincher.

The winless Molynes United, which was losing their fourth game, are second from bottom in 13th spot on five points and in danger of relegation.

But just above the relegation zone is surprisingly Arnett Gardens in 12th spot on nine points after they went down 0-1 to Portmore United, who are in second with 21 points. An own goal by Joel Jones in the fifth minute decided the outcome at the Ferdie Neita Park.

There will be two games on tonight at Stadium East, in the curtain raiser, Cavalier in fourth spot on 13 points take on leaders Montego Bay United on 22 points at 5 pm, before Tivoli Gardens in sixth with 12 points tackle Waterhouse in fifth also on 12 points at 7:30 pm.
