CCRP celebrates ‘living legends’ for outstanding contributions to nation building

With over 50 years of experience in the health-care industry, Winniefred Chambers-Dyer (right) receives the 2022 CCRP Living Legacy Award for Health in memory of Syringa Marshall-Burnett, named for the late educator, president of the Nurses Association of Jamaica, president of the Senate and foundation CCRP board director, from CCRP Board Director Warren McDonald.
It was an afternoon of affirmation for Jamaica’s living legends as the Caribbean Community of Retired Persons (CCRP) recently recognised 11 individuals who have made outstanding contributions to nation building.
These individuals being celebrated were Winniefred Chambers-Dyer, Beryl Chevannes, Howard Hamilton, Gary Hendrickson, Eleanor Jones, Peter Mais, Ambassador Aloun Ndombet-Assamba, Blossom O’Meally-Nelson, Claudette Richardson-Pious, Professor Maureen Samms-Vaughan and Dr Arnoldo Ventura.
Two special Awards of Appreciation were made to Saundra Bailey and Christopher Hind.
CCRP recently celebrated individuals who have contributed significantly to nation building. Eleanor Jones (centre), an honouree at the recent 2022 CCRP Living Legacy Awards ceremony held at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston, received her award and citation from Grace McLean (left) of BPM Financial and CCRP Board Director Sethuraman Kumaraswamy. Jones is awarded for her outstanding contribution in the field of Environmental Protection & Development both locally and internationally.
Peter Mais, CCRP Board Director, receives an award from fellow Board Director Vilma McDonald for his outstanding contribution to Legal Excellence, Community Development and Volunteerism in Jamaica.

Howard Hamilton receives the 2022 CCRP Living Legacy Award in recognition of “his visionary leadership in Business and Sport” from CCRP Board Director Patricia Reid-Waugh at the recent awards ceremony held at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel. The CCRP Living Legacy Awards are presented annually to honour seniors who have contributed to the growth and development of the country.
Christopher Hind, former JNGI general manager, receives an Award of Appreciation from CCRP Board Director Patricia Reid-Waugh for his support of CCRP and the introduction of the JNGI SilverShield Motor Vehicle and Property Insurance Plan for CCRP members, during the 2022 CCRP Living Legacy awards ceremony held at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston.
