Caribbean Champion Mount Pleasant continued their climb up the Jamaica Premier League table with a 1-0 win over Montego Bay United at Jarrett Park on Sunday.

Mount Pleasant, due to their involvement in the Caribbean Cup, are playing catch-up with their fixtures, having played three games less than the rest of the league.

Raheem Edwards found the winner in the 47th minute as Mount Pleasant moved to 22 points in fourth spot. They are four points adrift of the leaders Racing United, who will be in action on Monday night against Arnett Gardens.

Montego Bay United continue to falter but remain in second spot on 26 points, having lost their second consecutive game.

Former Caribbean champion Cavalier clipped Harbour View 1-0 at the Compound to be on 22 points in fifth spot. Christopher Ainsworth netted the winner in the 66th minute. Harbour View, which was losing their fifth game, slipped two spots to 10th on 14 points.

Meanwhile, the promoted and struggling Spanish Town Police secured their second win of the campaign, beating fellow promoted team Treasure Beach FC 1-0 in the curtain raiser at the Waterhouse Stadium.

Jordan Elliston scored in the 51st minute as Spanish Town moved to eight points but is still at the bottom of the 14-team league. Treasure Beach are in 12th spot on 12 points.

In the feature encounter at Drewsland, Molynes United beat home team Waterhouse 2-0 with goals from Nickache Murray in the 43rd and Nigerian player Wisdom Urbani in the 71st.

Molynes, which have now won three of their last four games, jump five places from 12th to seventh on 15 points. They are just outside the last playoff spot held by Waterhouse, also on 15 points.

At the Ferdie Neita Park, home team Portmore United and Dunbeholden battled to a 0-0 draw. It was a result that left Portmore United in third spot on 25 points and missed the opportunity to leap to the top. Dunbeholden are ninth on 14 points.

On Monday night, leaders Racing United on 26 points take on Arnett Gardens in 11th spot on 12 points at 7:30 pm at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex, while Tivoli Gardens in eighth on 15 points tackle Chapelton Maroons in 13th spot on 12 points at 3:00 pm at the Edward Seaga Stadium.
