Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu said on Friday that China is willing to work with the United States to continue exploring the right way for the two major countries to get along in the new era.

Speaking at a press conference, Ma stressed that China is committed to mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation with the United States, while firmly safeguarding its own national sovereignty, security and development interests.

He also emphasised that attempts to pressure or coerce China will not succeed, and any effort to curb China’s development or hinder the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is destined to fail.

“We are willing to work with the US side in the same direction, follow through on the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, maintain communication, manage differences, expand cooperation and continue to explore the right way for the two major countries to get along in the new era,” he said.
