The Indianapolis Colts have reportedly secured quarterback Daniel Jones for the next few years after agreeing to a two-year contract extension worth $88 million.

The deal could rise to $100 million with incentives and includes $50 million fully guaranteed at signing, along with $60 million guaranteed for injury.

Jones, who turns 29 in May, joined the Colts in March 2025 and quickly made an impact. He helped guide the team to an impressive 7-1 start last season before his campaign was cut short by a fractured fibula and a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Before the injury, Jones was enjoying one of the best stretches of his career. He threw for three 101 yards and 19 touchdowns, falling just 104 yards shy of his career high passing total and six touchdowns short of his personal best.

Earlier this month, Indianapolis placed the transition tag on the veteran quarterback, which would have allowed him to play the upcoming season on a one-year deal worth $37.833 million if a longer agreement had not been reached. The tag also allowed Jones to negotiate with other teams, though the Colts would have had the option to match any offer.

Jones entered the NFL as the sixth overall pick in the 2019 draft after leaving Duke and began his career with the New York Giants. He started 69 games for the franchise, finishing with a 24-44-1 record before his time there came to an end. During the second year of a four-year contract with New York, he was benched and later requested his release. After a brief stint on the Minnesota Vikings’ practice squad, Jones signed a one-year, $14 million deal with Indianapolis, a move that ultimately led to his resurgence with the Colts.
