In corporate movements this week…Guardian Holdings Limited has advised both Antony Lancaster and David Hamel-Smith have been removed as directors of the company effective May 5, 2022.

This came about at Guardian Holdings’ annual general meeting (AGM) held on May 5, 2022, where Lancaster and Hamel-Smith did not offer themselves for re-election as company directors.

Our Today reported last week that David Maraj tendered his resignation as group chief financial officer of Guardian Holdings with effect from May 5, 2022. The company is also advising that at the AGM, Michael Gerrard was elected as a director of the company.

Maraj resigned over a difference of opinion on how the publicly traded company in Trinidad and Jamaica should deal with deferred taxes in its first-quarter financials. Samanta Saugh has been appointed in an acting capacity as group chief financial officer with effect from May 15, 2022.

Trinidad and Tobago Unit Trust appointment

Anne Joseph was appointed as a director to the board of the Trinidad and Tobago Unit Trust Corporation with effect from May 18, 2022, for a term of four years.
