
In Corporate Movements this week, Scotia Group Jamaica has promoted Morris Nelson to regional director of its Corporate and Commercial Banking Centre, Caribbean North and Central, effective October 1.
Nelson, a seasoned banking executive with over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, was previously senior vice president of corporate and commercial banking.
In this expanded role, Nelson will assume executive responsibility for the strategic direction and growth of corporate and commercial banking business across Bahamas, Cayman Islands, and Turks and Caicos Islands, in addition to his current leadership of the Jamaican market.

He has a proven track record of successfully partnering with both local enterprises and multinational corporations, helping them navigate complex financial landscapes and achieve sustainable growth. His leadership spans a diverse client base, including mid-market businesses, government entities, and international firms operating across the Caribbean region.
Nelson holds a Bachelor of Science in management & accounting and an MBA from the Mona School of Business & Management, University of the West Indies. He is also an associate of the Institute of Canadian Bankers. He also serves as a director of Finbiz Processing Jamaica Limited and the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce.

Larren Peart tapped as independent Knutsford Express director
The board of directors of Knutsford Express Services announced the appointment of Larren Peart as an independent director effective October 1.
Subject to the requirements of the JSE Junior Market Rule Appendix 1, Peart was also appointed to the audit and compensation committees effective October 1. The committees now consist of four members, of whom three are independent directors.
CAB appoints new director

Caribbean Assurance Brokers (CAB) appointed Odene James as a new director, effective October 1.
