Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz will most likely line up against FIFA World Cup Champs Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and the USA in their return to COPA America 2024 from June 20 to July 14, 2024.

CONMEBOL and VertiCast Media, the parent company of CVM-TV and CSport, have announced an exclusive broadcast rights deal for COPA America 2024.

This tournament, featuring football icons such as Messi, Neymar, Luis Diaz, as well as Jamaica’s own Blake, Lowe, and Leon Bailey, will be the focal point of CVM-TV and CSport’s programming from June 20 to July 14, 2024.

The return of the Reggae Boyz to the COPA America stage adds a special flavour to this year’s competition. With the tournament hosting 16 teams from South America and CONCACAF, including defending champions Argentina, Brazil, and other football powerhouses, viewers are in for a treat as they witness Lionel Messi’s potential farewell to South American championships.

Carlo Redwood, chief commercial officer at VertiCast Media

Carlo Redwood, VertiCast Media’s chief commercial officer, in expressing the significance of this broadcasting deal, said: “COPA America fits in perfectly with our other premium broadcast content like the Premier League and the NBA Finals which we know our audience in the region are always looking for. This year makes it even more special as the Reggae Boyz return as one of the nations vying for glory on the international stage.”

Football fans in Jamaica and the Caribbean will be able to catch all the action on CSport via its app and website, as well as on more than 20 cable operator systems. The exclusive coverage promises an immersive viewing experience for the audience.

The United States is set to play host to COPA America 2024, welcoming 10 teams from CONMEBOL and six from CONCACAF. The group stage will unfold from June 20 to July 2, followed by quarterfinals from July 4 to 6, semifinals on July 9 and 10, and the third-place playoff on July 13. The ultimate showdown, the final, is scheduled for July 14.

As anticipation builds, Redwood shared: “We are very excited to bring COPA America 2024 to Jamaican and Caribbean homes and to witness the Reggae Boyz on this stage. This, as we wait to see if Trinidad and Tobago’s Soca Warriors will also make it in. This is not just a broadcast; it’s a celebration of Caribbean football and a testament to the talent and determination of our regional teams.”

The journey for the Reggae Boyz extends beyond regional competition, as the winner of COPA America 2024 will compete in the 2025 CONMEBOL–UEFA Cup of Champions against the UEFA Euro 2024 winner.
