On this World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD), we pause to recognise the daily hurdles faced by individuals with autism and those who support them.

The theme of this year’s observance ‘Empowering Autistic Voices,’ underscores the importance of amplifying the perspectives and experiences of individuals with autism.

As we commemorate WAAD, the People’s National Party (PNP) reaffirms our commitment to fostering inclusivity and support for individuals with autism.

We are dedicated to promoting inclusive education to ensure that individuals with autism have access to education in the least restrictive environment.

Moreover, we recognise the disparities in healthcare access faced by individuals with autism, akin
to those experienced by others with disabilities. Therefore, we commit to working towards establishing a healthcare system that is accessible to all, regardless of neurodiversity or disability status.

The PNP remains steadfast in our commitment to collaborating with individuals with autism to dismantle these barriers and create a society where everyone, regardless of their neurodiversity, can thrive and contribute fully.
