Desnoes and Geddes (D&G) Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of the less fortunate by expanding its long-standing partnership with Food For The Poor Jamaica (FFPJ).

The foundation made a donation of $J3.8 million to FFPJ’s ‘Build Back The Love for Jamaica’ campaign, aimed at providing housing solutions for those in need on Thursday, July 28.

The contribution of J$3.8 Million will fund the construction of five new housing units; Food For The Poor will select three beneficiaries, and D&G Foundation will choose the remaining two. This strategic approach further enriches the foundation’s “Growing With Communities Programme,” allowing it to impact the lives of even more vulnerable Jamaicans.

We have to make sure the figure is correct! D&G Foundation joins their FFPJ partners in laughter as they rewrite the figure on the cheque.

Dennis Beckford, accountant of the D&G Foundation, expressed gratitude for the successful partnership with Food For The Poor over the past five years. Through their joint efforts, the organisations have been able to positively impact numerous communities across the island, fostering hope and empowerment among the less fortunate.

The partnership between D&G Foundation and Food For The Poor began in 2017 with the foundation donating over J$4.6 million, specifically directed towards the construction of 10 housing solutions in communities near the Project Grow cassava farm. With this most recent donation of over $3.8 million, the foundation’s support will have resulted in the creation of a total of 15 new housing units for those in dire need.

Craig Moss-Solomon, executive director of Food For The Poor Jamaica, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the D&G Foundation’s unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable Jamaicans. The donation will not only provide shelter but also a new lease on life for the selected families, granting them safety and a well-deserved place to call home.
