Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is set to go to trial on May 5, 2025, facing serious charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The trial date was confirmed during a court hearing in New York on Thursday, October 10.
According to CNN, Combs, who has pleaded not guilty, appeared in court with shackled ankles, dressed in a loose tan shirt and khaki trousers. He greeted family members with a smile as he entered the courtroom, escorted by US Marshals.
Prosecutor Emily Johnson indicated the prosecution’s case could last three weeks, although potential additional charges may alter this timeline. Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, stated their defence would likely take about one week.

Judge Arun Subramanian announced an order prohibiting both sides from discussing confidential grand jury materials. This comes after Combs’ legal team alleged that the government leaked a damaging video of him allegedly assaulting former girlfriend Cassie Ventura to CNN, a claim the government denied.
The video, released in May, shows Combs dragging and kicking Ventura, leading to his public apology following initial denials of the allegations.
As Combs awaits trial at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre, his next court appearance is scheduled for December 18. His legal team has noted urgency in proceeding to trial, having been denied bail twice.
