Canada’s Dustin Risdon opened a three-stroke lead at the end of play on Tuesday’s (November 16) second day of the Jamaica Open Golf Championships at the Tryall Golf Club in Hanover.

Risdon shot a four-under-par 68 to widen his one-stroke lead from Monday’s opening day, despite a six-under 66 from the USA’s Kurtus Luedtke, who is tied for second with Benjamin Martin of Trinidad and Tobago.

The Canadian had shot a four-under-par 68 on Monday.

Wesley Brown, who scored an even-par 72 on Monday, shot a three-over 75 to be the best local prop at the end of day two. He shot an eagle at six and promised more of the same on Wednesday’s final day.

Meanwhile, among the amateurs, William Knibbs opened his lead to four strokes when he shot an even-par 72. The talented Jamaican opened his account with a two-under-par 70 on Monday.

Under the prevailing good conditions, 10 professionals scored under the par score on day two. However, none of the amateurs were able to take similar advantage.

Risdon was especially hopeful that he could finally cop his first Jamaica Open title after falling short for almost a decade.
