A former friend of comedian Kevin Hart, Jonathan “J.T.” Jackson, has accused the star of submitting fabricated evidence to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office pertaining to his 2017 sex tape scandal.

Jackson alleges that investigators accepted the evidence and acted upon it without proper vetting.

In an amended complaint filed on August 6, 2024 to the Los Angeles County Superior Court, J.T. further alleged that the Jumanji actor and the district attorney’s office contributed to false extortion accusations against him that tarnished his image.

Hart was sued by Jackson for allegedly botching a settlement agreement intended to clear Jackson’s name following aftereffects linked to the 2017 scandal.

According to J.T., there was a “meticulous negotiation” and agreement on word choice that Hart failed to use from their 2021 settlement when the comedian confronted the scandal on Instagram the same year, leading to the $12 million breach Jackson updated a few days ago.

The transcript of a 2017 Hart interview by district attorney’s investigator Robin Letourneau is included in the amended complaint, which is said to confirm “multiple key points” that rebut the points made against Jackson and show that Hart allegedly instigated criminal extortion charges that resulted in Jackson’s arrest.
