Jamaican investment company, Eppley Limited, has reorganised its audit committee for compliance with recent amendments to the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) Main Market Rules.
As part of the reorganisation, businessman Byron Thompson has been appointed as an independent member of the audit committee, effective January 5, 2024. Company vice-chairman and CIO of Musson Group of Companies, Nicholas Scott, has resigned from the audit committee, effective January 5, 2024.
Eppley, which is an investment company focused on credit, mezzanine, infrastructure and real estate opportunities, advised that Scott’s resignation is in no way related to any disagreement in respect of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure or any other issue impacting the audit committee.
The company says the resignation is also in now-way associated with his ability to properly carry out the functions delegated by the board of directors.
Recent management changes
Eppley experienced recent changes to its top management with the resignation of Adam Hugh as assistant vice-president for credit, effective October 11, 2023. He was replaced by Samantha Summerbell, who took up the post on October 1, 2023.
In addition, Keisha Smith was brought on board as vice-president, people, effective October 26, 2023. Eppley is domiciled in Jamaica and invests throughout the Caribbean and Central America. It was founded in 1973 and has been listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange since 2013.
