Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising the public about a fake video making the rounds on social media regarding services being offered at the Montego Bay Revenue Service Centre MBRSC.

TAJ says it is aware of the video, called ‘a Public Service Announcement’ dated Monday, November 17. It says, “The video in question is an old video recorded for another activity and is not in relation to the current situation. TAJ, in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, has reopened most of its offices, but MBRSC and some of its satellite offices remain closed as repair work continues.”

The following Western offices remain closed: Montego Bay Revenue Service Centre, Darliston Tax Office, Falmouth Tax Office, Jackson Town Tax Office, Lucea and Savanna-la-mar Tax Offices. Taxpayers are directed to visit the St Ann’s Bay, Moneague, and Brown’s Town Tax Offices to conduct business.

Taxpayers are reminded of the online payment options that remain accessible, and for convenience to include:

  • TAJ’s Website: www.jamaicatax.gov.jm
  • Direct Funds Transfer (DFT)
  • Scotia Online and Mobile App
  • National Commercial Bank (NCB) Online Banking
  • TAJ’s Mobile App

TAJ apologises for any inconvenience caused and encourages everyone to exercise caution when conducting business. Persons are reminded that official updates on the reopening schedule and payment methods are issued only through Tax Administration Jamaica’s verified communication channels.
