The media fraternity came out in numbers for the funeral of journalist Job Nelson yesterday (July 13) at the Grace Missionary Church on West Avenue in Kingston.

Job was killed in a car accident in May. Job was well regarded and his professionalism and dependability were something to be admired.

He was a gentleman who never had a bad word and took on life with equanimity.

His career saw him working at the Jamaica Gleaner, Daily Record, Loop Jamaica and a number of publications before more recently returning to the ‘Old Lady of North Street’ where he plied his trade both on the print and online operations.

Job was versatile, capable of covering news, sports and whatever assignment came his way. Whenever you encountered him it was a pleasure and he took a keen interest in current affairs.

Our Today brings you these photos by Llewellyn Wynter from the funeral service:

I also get cysts every month, so now I have to live on hormonal birth control to stop my cycles to prevent them from coming. The pain would be too much to handle, so I won’t chance coming off the pills, so I still haven’t tried having kids. I am deeply afraid of the excruciating pain.”
