FirstRock Real Estate has now completed its KFC El Roble project. This restaurant, marking the first of FirstRock’s two KFC locations in Costa Rica, has gone from blueprint to reality in under three months.
This follows FirstRock’s acquisition of two parcels of land in Alajuela, San Jose, for the construction of the two KFC restaurants in Q4 2023.
Latin America represents the most profitable region for KFC worldwide; and the Costa Rican franchise has been voted number one in Latin America for the past few years.
The completion of the project in just under three months surpassed initial expectations, making KFC El Roble the 55th location in the Central American country.

Shaun Myers, senior VP, group finance & international business at FirstRock Group, expressed delight with the rapid and efficient construction process. “We are thrilled with the quick and efficient construction process of KFC El Roble. Completing the project in under three months not only demonstrates the capabilities of our team but also underscores our commitment to delivering value to our investors,” Myers said.
“Based on this timeline, we should see returns on our investment earlier than we originally anticipated,” he added.

Speaking with Our Today, Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of FirstRock Group Ryan Reid said: “ Costa Rica remains a primary jurisdiction for First Rock Real Estate Investments. Our head of international business Shaun Myers has conceptualised, negotiated and executed on this in good timing.”
This remarkable achievement is attributed to the partnership between FirstRock, International Trade and Finance SRL and Constarq SA, a renowned construction firm with a proven track record of building KFC locations in Costa Rica to franchise specifications with relatively short turnaround times.

As FirstRock celebrates the completion of KFC El Roble, anticipation mounts for the imminent opening of its second location in San Rafael, set to be done by mid-March. These developments further solidify FirstRock’s commitment to regional diversification.
