

There is no doubt that the name Terri-Karelle Reid has become a household one in Jamaica. Reid is one of the most loved media personalities in the country – with many admiring her positive influence.
Known for her quirky combination of natural humour and enthusiasm, Reid continues to use her platforms to inspire, challenge, motivate and advocate for positive change for individuals and the world at large.
Like many, Terri-Karelle had to switch things up a bit career wise. She transitioned into the world of media, public relations, marketing more than 10 years ago.

After getting her start as a radio personality, Reid eventually landed on television in 2012, hosting the most-watched live television show in Jamaica – Digicel Rising Stars, a job she has loved over the years.
In 2022, Reid added author to her already impressive roster of impact when she published her debut book, My Brand Compass.

1. The queen of afro
Terri-Karelle was one of the first black women to rock an afro at the Miss World Pageant.
She earned the moniker, ‘Your Jamaican Girl’, when she won Miss Jamaica World 2005, donning natural afro curls unapologetically all throughout the competition, even after being advised to straighten her hair.
She remained her authentic self for the international pageant in China, where she walked away as a Top 15 finalist.

2. Power in pivoting
Reid made the ultimate pivot, after completing a Doctor of (Veterinary) Medicine in Cuba on a government scholarship in 2007.
Upon returning home , she faced cross-cultural accreditation challenges, which resulted in her being unable to practise veterinary medicine in Jamaica.
Her dreams were crushed. But, like a true warrior, Reid made a pivot and thus began her journey in marketing and management.

3. Ella habla bien español!
She is bilingual! With her diverse background in various spaces and having studied in Cuba, the media personality is actually fluent in Spanish.
4. One for the stages
With her experience and energetic personality, Reid is a sought-after event host – to date she has hosted more than 500 events.
She’s known to hold her own when it comes to handling industry topics and engaging attendees.

As a speaker, she is famous for combining her quirky wit and storytelling ability to create an inspiring, energetic and unforgettable experience.
Because of this, she remains at the top of the list of desirable speakers for corporate events.
Bonus: She was selected as the first Jamaican female to deliver a TEDx talk at Aston University in Birmingham, UK.
