The Flow Foundation joined forces with the JPS and Digicel foundations to support the residents of Junction, St Elizabeth, many of whom are still grappling with the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl.

Last Friday (August 9), at the BB Coke High School, the foundations hosted a community relief event that helped to ease the back-to-school demands for parents and provided a fun day for the children.

The event was themed ‘Connected Life’, which spoke to the collaborative effort to restore normalcy for the residents who were most impacted by the hurricane which bushed just south of the island six weeks ago.

Other partners of the event included Food for the Poor Jamaica, National Water Commission and HEART/NSTA Trust.

Flow provided uniform vouchers for families and powered the event with its high-speed internet.

Reading Time: 2 minutesMinister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett, has set an ambitious target of 150,000 annual visitors from Continental Europe to Jamaica by 2030, supported by a strategic plan to expand airlift, deepen tour operator partnerships, and intensify targeted marketing across some of Europe’s most valuable long-haul travel markets.

Continental Europe represents a major growth opportunity for Jamaica, with markets such as Germany, Spain, Italy, France and the Netherlands showing strong interest in long-haul Caribbean travel. Jamaica’s established presence in the region also provides a strong platform for accelerated expansion over the coming years.
