Rituals Coffee House and Coffee Roasters of Jamaica partnered to give their patrons an experience for Valentine’s Day weekend.
As an authentic coffeehouse, Rituals Coffeehouse primarily serves coffee and only uses Coffee Roasters of Jamaica’s authentic 100 per cent Blue Mountain Coffee to make their hot and cold coffee-infused beverages, so it only seemed right for Coffee Roasters to have a pop-up “Love you a Latte” with 2-for-1 lattes for Valentine’s Day weekend.
In Greek philosophy, there are different types of love: Philia the love of friends, agape, the love of mankind, and storge the love of parents for children. Rituals coffeehouse showed their expression of different types of love one can have with their 2-for-1 latte special this past weekend.

Donna Smith, operations manager of Rituals Coffeehouse understands the value of celebrating different kinds of love, especially at this time. “Coffee has a way of bringing people together for conversation and camaraderie. Girlfriends will have a heart-to-heart over coffee, parents will drink coffee in the morning to get powered up to tackle the day, and many couples will come in to have a coffee date. If you don’t have time to make it at home, Rituals coffee always has something in-store.” she said.
Rituals Coffeehouse follows COVID-19 protocols and maintains social distancing advisories throughout the space.
Different kinds of love
Business owner Robert Collins, brought his children Chase and Haley Collins to spend the morning and although the children didn’t drink coffee, he was able to enjoy a coffee date with them. “Valentine’s Day is not only about romance, but it’s also about celebrating the unconditional love you have for your children. Coming to Rituals, I can get my coffee fix and bond with the family.” he said.

International model and gymnast, Zoya Yaseka enjoyed her coffee date with her partner Matai Blacklock. Being mostly plant-based eaters, they opted for an oat milk alternative.

“Since me and my partner have been in Jamaica, we’ve tried Coffee Roasters of Jamaica and it’s the best Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee we’ve ever tasted. I’m glad that Rituals Coffeehouse also has dairy-free and vegan-friendly milk options so we can enjoy our lattes,” she said.
Flying solo, marketer Kesi Gardner decided to take herself on a coffee date as an act of self-love. “I always drink Coffee Roasters of Jamaica at home with milk and sugar but it was good to get out of the house and enjoy a flavoured latte in a cafe setting,” she said.

Mark Fletcher principal of Country Traders that distributes Coffee Roasters of Jamaica said,” Valentine’s Day is a great time to celebrate love and we love our coffee! Our coffee is sold locally at Rituals Coffeehouse, Outpost Republic, and Wholesome Cafe, as well as, supermarkets island-wide. We’ve recently set up our Amazon store, so you can send the gift of coffee for any occasion anywhere in the world.” he said.
