FOSLympics returns during 45th Anniversary Celebration

FOSLympics, a six sport competition, returns to GC Foster College of Physical Education and Sport during the 45th-anniversary celebrations. 

The winning region will take home the Edwin Murray Trophy, named in honour of a former Vice Principal.

Scheduled for Saturday, May 24 at the Spanish Town location, past students will compete against each other by Regions, as per the Ministry of Education. 

  • Region 1 – Kingston and St Andrew – RED 
  • Region 2 – Portland, St Thomas, St Mary – BLUE 
  • Region 3 – St Ann Trelawny – YELLOW 
  • Region 4 – St James, Hanover, Westmoreland – PURPLE 
  • Region 5 – Manchester, St Elizabeth – BROWN 
  • Region 6 – St Catherine – GREY 
  • Region 7 – Clarendon – WHITE 

The six disciplines to be contested are cricket, football, track and field, netball, volleyball and domino. 

Deputy Chair of the 45th Committee Janiel Smith said, “We hope to attract past students from all walks of life to this event. We expect a fun-filled day for all.” Smith also added that there will be other fun and games.

GC Foster College plans to raise a minimum of J$45 million to fund programmes geared at increasing access to its current students while attracting students from the wider Caribbean. The Museum is among the major projects being undertaken; while a mural, scholarships and modern equipment and supplies are being targeted.
