The Financial Services Commission (FSC) says security experts from the Jamaica Cyber Incident Response Team (Ja-CIRT) and the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) are working to assess the extent of a “cyber event” at the financial regulator.
In a release on Wednesday, FSC sought to assure staff, registrants and other stakeholders that all efforts are being made to protect personal information and data.
“The FSC takes the security of our systems and data very seriously and is working assiduously to address the situation with alacrity,” the FSC stated in a release.
While the FSC did not disclose the full extent of the “cyber event,” it pledged to provide updates on the investigation’s progress as more information becomes available.
