Over 45 of the island’s leaders in politics, civil society and the private sector are now rehearsing in readiness for the fundraising Powerful Women and Men Perform for Charity on Sunday, June 21 at 7 pm at the Jamaica College Auditorium.

Over the years, the Powerful Women and Men Perform for Charity show—founded by Thyra Heaven—has raised over $80 million for Mustard Seed Communities, which cares for 500 abandoned, disabled and HIV-infected children.      

“The quality of talent is exceptional, so I expect the event to be as inspiring as it will be entertaining. The line-up makes for a fitting return of the show and an excellent tribute to Father’s Day,” said Ewan Simpson, musical director for the show.

He said the energy in the rehearsals has been high and camaraderie exceptional. In fact, he noted, that the performers have been fully supportive of each other as they continue to sharpen their skills. 

Among the first-time performers confirmed are Mark Golding, Leader of the Opposition; Ed Bartlett, Minister of Tourism; Nevaeh Allen, Miss Jamaica World 2026; Nikeisha Burchell, Opposition Spokesperson on Culture and Karen Booker, popular interior designer and radio host. 

Joining them on stage will be Juliet Holness, Speaker of the House; Hugh Faulkner, Commissioner of INDECOM; and Cordel Green, Executive Director of the Broadcasting Commission and Executive Producer of the show, who will be returning acts.

Adult tickets are going for $4,000 and children under 12 – $2,000.
