Shai Gilgeous-Alexander made NBA history after breaking a 63-year-old record for the most consecutive games scoring at least 20 points.
The Oklahoma City Thunder star poured in 35 points in a tight 104–102 victory over the Boston Celtics on Thursday (March 12), extending his run to 127 straight games with 20 or more points. The streak began on November 1, 2024.
The previous record of 126 games belonged to legendary scorer Wilt Chamberlain, who achieved the feat between October 1961 and January 1963.
Gilgeous-Alexander passed the milestone midway through the third quarter when he drained a 2 -foot jumper to reach 21 points for the night. He kept the momentum going, finishing the game with nine assists and six rebounds alongside his scoring effort.
The win also stretched Oklahoma City’s winning streak to seven games. The Thunder now sit atop the Western Conference with a 52–15 record, while the Celtics remain second in the Eastern Conference at 43–23.
