Erling Haaland added another goal to his ever-growing streak, scoring for the 12th game in a row as Manchester City finally sealed an away win in the Champions League with a 2‑0 victory at Villarreal.
From the moment they kicked off, City were in control. Haaland darted ahead of his marker to convert a low cross from Rico Lewis and opened up the match with a finish that felt effortless under pressure.
City’s rhythm from the start was clear: they were hunting the goals, and they created several chances in the early minutes. Someone else who stepped up, though, was Bernardo Silva, who underlined City’s dominance with a clean-headed finish just before half-time, putting the match beyond Villarreal’s reach. The home side did try to respond after the break with a few shots on goal and threatening toward the end, but the visitors stood firm and saw it through.
