Another temporary respite from the summer heat should be welcomed by citizens as the Jamaica Meteorological Service forecasts hazy and windy conditions for much of the island. 

The Met Office, in a Sunday morning (June 13) bulletin, indicated that a building high-pressure ridge and a low-level jet stream across the central Caribbean, including Jamaica, are the two dominating weather features.

The Jamaica Met Service expects partly cloudy and hazy conditions for large swaths of the country this morning, to later give way to isolated showers and thunderstorms across hilly areas and sections of northern parishes. 

Weather should remain hazy and windy into the afternoon, with partly cloudy conditions anticipated tonight.

Maximum temperatures in Jamaica’s two largest cities, Kingston and Montego Bay should hover at 32 degrees Celcius today.

Jamaica Meteorological Service’s three-day outlook:

Monday: Partly cloudy morning. Isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms mainly across hilly areas and western parishes. Hazy. Windy.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy morning with showers across eastern parishes. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms across the island, especially western parishes. Windy.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy, hazy, and windy. Possible isolated afternoon showers across sections of western parishes.
