Hardware & Lumber Limited (H&L) signed a landmark J$9 million sponsorship agreement with Duhaney Park Football Club last Friday (January 24) in a partnership the company says aims to strengthen community ties and promote sports development.
Leveraging its Spanish Town Road headquarters’ proximity to the club grounds, the deal includes comprehensive support for the club’s sporting infrastructure and brand integration, demonstrating H&L’s commitment to fostering local talent and grassroots football initiatives.
“This partnership transcends traditional corporate sponsorship by building on our physical presence in the Duhaney Park community,” said Marcus Richards, managing director of Hardware & Lumber Limited. “Our proximity to the club’s facility, along with our support for the community health centre and the Community Development Committee symbolises the natural connection between H&L and the community. We are excited to play a pivotal role in the club’s development and its journey back to the Premier League.”
“The timing of this partnership marks a transformative moment for our club,” said Clareton Walker, director of Duhaney Park Football Club. “Having H&L, our long-standing neighbour, as our official sponsor provides us with the stability and resources needed to elevate our program. This support is instrumental in our quest to return to the Premier League while maintaining our commitment to youth development.”
This collaboration combines H&L’s commercial strength with Duhaney Park Football Club’s sporting legacy, setting a new standard for community-focused partnerships in Jamaican football.
