The 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina saw an unforgettable twist during Wednesday’s cross-country skiing team sprint qualifier when an unexpected guest darted onto the course.

A two-year-old husky named Nazgul broke free from his doghouse and trotted onto the track just as the leading skiers were approaching the finish line, leaving competitors and fans stunned.

The playful pup tried to join the action, happily running alongside the racers and briefly causing confusion on the course.

Thankfully, no one was hurt and the event wrapped up safely, but the lighthearted interruption quickly went viral, turning Nazgul into an overnight sensation online.

While Sweden claimed gold in the final, with Switzerland taking silver and Germany bronze, it was the adventurous husky who captured the hearts of viewers around the world.
