Jamaica continued to rewrite history with some decent performances at the XXV Winter Olympics in Cortina, Milano, Italy, under the world’s admiring eyes.
Jamaica’s two-man bobsled team of Junior Harris and Shane Pitter completed their campaign at the Winter Olympics in 22nd place, with a combined time of 2:49.37 (+4.58) after their three rounds.
The team improved to 55.97 on the final and third run, improving on their 56.68 in the first round and 56.72 in the second round and just missed a position in the top 20 in the world.
The men’s four-man ream will be in action next on Saturday, February 21 and 22, looking to surpass the country’s best finish of 14th place at Lillehammer, Norway in 1994.

Jamaica stunned the world at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics by making their debut, coming from a country that had never seen snow or ice before, prompting the hit movie “Cool Runnings” in 1993. Now a cult classic, the film has turned eyes to Jamaica’s bobsled teams at every Winter Olympics since.
Meanwhile, Mica Moore created another piece of history, finishing in the top 15, placing 14th in the women’s Monobob Bobsleigh, and she was ecstatic.

“I just finished 14th at the Olympic Games, which is absolutely incredible, it’s more than I ever dreamed of, and I am so happy so proud. It was an amazing competition to be a part of. So many different things happening with each run, and it’s a memory I will have forever,” she posted on social media.
