The newly reopened Iberostar Rose Hall

Iberostar Hotels & Resorts is open to welcome guests at Iberostar Rose Hall complex of three hotels in Montego Bay, signalling renewed momentum for the island’s tourism sector following the impact of Hurricane Melissa.

The company reaffirms its long-standing commitment to Jamaica, its people, and the vibrant community that continues to make this destination so exceptional. Thanks to the dedication of its teams and the collaboration of local partners, the company’s properties have made significant progress toward full operational readiness. Core services are stable across the complex.

Following Hurricane Melissa, the company implemented several initiatives: providing lodging at its hotels for affected team members and their families, offering companionship, and caring for the physical, financial, and emotional well-being of its people.

As part of its broader recovery efforts, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts is also implementing a comprehensive support plan for its 1,700 employees across Jamaica. To help them recover, the company has introduced a series of support measures designed to provide immediate relief and long-term stability.

These include a relief bonus to ease unexpected financial burdens, care packages for all employees to support households as they rebuild and restock essentials, and a material relief program to assist with urgent home repairs.

Iberostar is also giving support to its neighbours, many of whom the company is connected with, such as the Grange Pen Fishers Association, the community next to its hotel, which was also heavily impacted by the storm. Together, these initiatives reflect Iberostar’s deep commitment to the well-being of its employees, their families and the communities it serves.

Iberostar Hotels & Resorts emphasises that visiting Jamaica is one of the most meaningful ways travellers can support the country’s recovery. Tourism plays a critical role in restoring economic stability, protecting local jobs, and helping the island return to normal as quickly as possible.
