The International 59th annual Marlin Tournament, which got under way October 12 and ended on Saturday (October 15) at Old Marina in Port Antonio, Portland, saw anglers Andrea and Peter Cowan of yacht Integrity making waves by coming out on top.
The power couple, who in their day-to-day lives own and operate Jamaica’s premier food distribution business, Lillan Limited, joined forces and, along with their yacht crew, walked away with bragging rights.
Major sponsor Lillan Limited reigned supreme throughout prize giving as Peter Cowan was awarded life membership for his service to the club.
The tournament organiser, Max Rochester, was happy to have the tournament back in full swing after being put on pause over the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We’re happy that restrictions have been lifted and participants feel free to come out and compete on the water. We’re looking to have a bigger and better event next year.”
With Sterling Asset Management as one of the major sponsors, President & CEO Charles Ross, shared: “We’re glad to be sponsoring this annual event. The display of sportsmanship is unmatched when it comes to deep-sea fishing and we will continue to support events like this one that promote nation-building.”
